Picky eaters solutions 2023

Hi! Philip from POOW The Food Hero here! We have developed a tool which helps parents who are struggling to get their children to eat. We have some good news for you, it works! 🙂 + 6000 parents downloaded POOW last year to improve their mealtime situation at home.

The internet is filled with articles, blog posts, and guides trying to give parents concrete tips on how to manage their picky eater at home. We don’t believe that some general tips are sufficient for parents if they really want to change their mealtime situation. From our point of view, tips are theoretical. We are practical. POOW has been developed in close collaboration with parents and dietitians in Sweden with the ambition to provide parents with the best possible solution.

So what if we break down some of the most common tips online and compare how POOW The Food Hero is more practical.

1. Don't Reward

We at POOW only work with motivation, and not rewarding. Through our eating game the child will learn why it’s important to eat and get motivated to eat as it’s a part of the game.

2. Get your child involved

All functions in POOW The Food Hero are involving your child in the meantime situation, all the way from deciding what to eat, to actually eating the food on the plate. Let your child decide the meal of today by building a meal in the nutrition game. Or use our recipes where you as a parent find clear guidelines and instructions on how you can involve your child in the cooking process. Use POOW to break down barriers between the child and food.

3. Have variety in the meals

Are you as a parent running out of ideas on what to cook for your picky eater. Well, welcome to the club! In our app you can find + 70 recipes created uniquely for families with children between the ages 2-5.

4. Have patience and try again

Failing is a natural part of trying to get your picky eater to eat and try new flavours. But how will yesterday be any different from today if nothing has changed and you don’t have any new tools? By using POOW you can try new things everyday by choosing between our 5 adventures that are motivating your child to eat. POOW allows you to try again, but in different ways.

5. Avoid pressure and forcing

By using POOW we take pressure and force out of the equation and replace it with happiness and joy. POOW The Food Hero is an enabler for parents whose ambition is to create a peaceful mealtime situation as the child is building a healthy relationship with foods.

6. Have fun with the food

Fun is in the core value of POOW, through our nutrition game, the child can build meals and get more familiar with different foods and meals. A fun way for the child to play with foods while learning about nutrition.
